Grade point averages are determined by multiplying the points for each grade by the number of credit hours. For example, if you received an A- (3.670) for a class with three credit hours:

3.670 (A-) x 3 (semester credit hours) = 11.010 grade points

A student’s cumulative GPA is determined by dividing the total number of grade points earned by the total number of semester hours completed. Marks such as I, NC or CR are not included in a GPA.
